This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Review and repost discrepancies in charges, such as underpayments, overpayments, and misapplied charges.
• Identify, investigate, and ensure timely correction reposting related to claims.
• Actively engage in identifying problems and facilitating resolutions, coordinating with the relevant parties.
• Accurately execute end-of-day processes in alignment with departmental procedures.
• Report findings to management and suggest process enhancements to reduce charge posting inaccuracies.
• Collaborate closely with clients, providers, and various departments to ensure efficient charge posting operations.
• Create reports on charge corrections, highlighting trends or recurring issues.
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work cooperatively with multiple internal and external teams to identify and address enterprise-wide challenges.
• Work alongside other departments to resolve intricate charge-related problems.
• Consistently meet established RCM productivity metrics and performance benchmarks.
• Comply with Confidentiality and HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures.
• Assist with special projects as required.
• Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all posting functions and procedures.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in customer service, accounts receivable, payment posting, or business office roles preferred in a medical environment.
• Strong preference for knowledge of basic patient accounting processes and healthcare terminology.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Proven ability to type accurately at a speed of 50 words per minute.
• Proficient knowledge of Athena, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Zoom.
