Amazon Connect REST API Integration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate integrations between frontend and backend systems.

• Create and manage Python-based AWS Lambda functions to support serverless workflows.

• Configure and sustain Amazon Connect contact flows, routing logic, and queue behavior.

• Design and enhance DynamoDB schemas, indexes, and scalable data models.

• Collaborate with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and CloudWatch.

• Work alongside UI teams to ensure smooth integration of frontend applications with backend systems.

• Oversee infrastructure utilizing Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Support cloud-native architectures and event-driven systems that are scalable.

• Collaborate with Amazon Professional Services and internal engineering teams on significant initiatives.

• Address production issues and assist with deployments as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in AWS cloud development and serverless architecture.

• Practical knowledge of Python, particularly in AWS Lambda development.

• Familiarity with Amazon Connect and contact flow configuration.

• Strong grasp of DynamoDB, including schema design, indexing, and scaling strategies.

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Knowledge of AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB.

• Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure management.

• Understanding of event-driven and microservices-based architectures.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Nice to Have

• Experience in contact center or telephony domains.

• Understanding of IVR systems, call routing, or SIP concepts.

• AWS certifications at the Associate or Professional level.

• Experience with CloudFormation/CDK and transitioning to Terraform.

• Exposure to IBM ODM integrations.

• Experience supporting a production AWS environment.
