This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and sustain back-end services utilizing Python, Node.js, or Go on Kubernetes, adhering to established architectural frameworks.
• Contribute to GenAI workflows.
• Assist in the creation of data pipelines that support AI/ML workflows.
• Design and utilize REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs for creating secure and scalable services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to make design decisions.
• Undertake new tasks with general guidance rather than independently owning architectural decisions.
• Engage in code reviews and cross-functional project activities under the supervision of a senior engineer or team lead.
• 3–5 years of experience in back-end software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python is mandatory.
• Familiarity with TypeScript and/or Java is preferred.
• Experience working with microservices on Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of database design, including both SQL (PostgreSQL and MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Practical knowledge of ML/AI concepts and workflows.
• Understanding of fundamental back-end security principles, including API security and basics of authentication/authorization.
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada without restrictions.
• Must not require current or future sponsorship to work in Canada.
• Nice to have: Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Nice to have: Basic knowledge of data streaming with Kafka and Spark.
• Nice to have: Exposure to LLM/agentic AI tools.
• Nice to have: Experience in cybersecurity, IoT, or NLP domains.
