AI Safety Expert – English, Norwegian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in red teaming of conversational AI models and agents through the use of jailbreaks, prompt injections, misuse scenarios, bias exploitation, and multi-turn manipulation techniques.

• Document failures, categorize vulnerabilities, and identify systemic risks.

• Adhere to established taxonomies, benchmarks, and playbooks to ensure consistency in testing.

• Generate reproducible reports, datasets, and attack scenarios for clients.

• Assess AI outputs pertaining to sensitive issues like bias, misinformation, or harmful behaviors.

• Discover vulnerabilities that automated tests may overlook.

• Broaden evaluation coverage and minimize unexpected outcomes in production.

• Assist Mercor's clients in enhancing the robustness, safety, and trustworthiness of AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient/native fluency in both English and Norwegian.

• Previous experience in red teaming, particularly in AI adversarial work, cybersecurity, or socio-technical probing.

• Capability to test AI systems adversarially and push them to their limits.

• Familiarity with frameworks, taxonomies, benchmarks, or playbooks for structured testing methodologies.

• Skill in clearly communicating risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Flexibility to adapt across various projects and client needs.

• Preferred areas of expertise include adversarial machine learning, cybersecurity, socio-technical risk, and innovative probing techniques.

• Must operate as an independent contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
