This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design and conduct experiments to assess agent reliability, context retention, multi-step task execution, and failure modes.
• Develop and take ownership of the evaluation framework to determine if agents accomplish tasks accurately.
• Investigate the latest advancements in LLM agents, tool utilization, and reliability.
• Convert research insights into clear, actionable recommendations for engineering teams.
• Create prototypes of promising research concepts and transition validated solutions to production.
• Influence the research agenda as Bolter continues to expand.
• Collaborate closely with the GM and product engineer within a streamlined team.
• Utilize specialized AI agents to facilitate implementation.
• Proven experience in applied AI/ML research, preferably in LLM application design, agentic systems, evaluations, or production AI reliability.
• Proficient in experimental design and analysis.
• Strong engineering background with the capability to independently prototype experiments.
• Extensive knowledge of LLMs, tool usage, context management, and the failure modes associated with agentic systems.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems with a rigorous and pragmatic approach.
• Capacity to utilize AI agents as a force multiplier.
• Experience with LLM evaluations, hallucination mitigation, or large-scale production AI reliability is a plus.
• Background in developing or assessing agentic systems, tool utilization, or autonomous workflows is advantageous.
• Publicly available work, such as papers, open-source contributions, blog posts, or side projects, is a plus.
• Experience in product-led research is beneficial.
