AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Koin specializes in developing and scaling digitally-focused brands through effective commercial strategies, data-driven decision-making, and high-performance e-commerce operations.

• The AI Product Engineer is a mid to senior level role that focuses on designing, building, and deploying the internal tools, applications, dashboards, and automations that drive Koin’s operations.

• Everything you create will be used by real users throughout the organization and will have a direct impact on revenue, profit margins, and operational efficiency.

• This position represents a unique product engineering role: we innovate with AI at the core.

• Claude Code serves as the main development environment, with the expectation that you will leverage AI to generate production-quality software rather than writing code manually.

• You will guide features from an approved Statement of Work through the Technical Design Document, development, testing, and deployment on our internal product stack, which includes Next.js applications hosted on Vercel, Supabase for data management (Postgres, Row Level Security, edge functions), n8n for workflow automation, and GitHub for version control.

• The broader organization operates on NetSuite, Shopify, and Patchworks, and the tools you develop will frequently need to integrate with these platforms.

• In addition to product delivery, this role also encompasses process automation and enhancing the skills of the wider team: creating Claude-powered automations across various departments, developing reusable templates and skills, and mentoring colleagues to ensure that AI-enhanced work becomes the standard rather than the exception.

• This position reports to the Head of Systems & Data and collaborates cross-functionally with all departments. Comprehensive training will be provided on Koin’s internal systems and technology stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in delivering production web applications utilizing AI-driven development, with tangible examples to discuss.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Claude Code as a primary development environment, along with a robust understanding of Claude across Chat and Cowork.

• Strong expertise with Supabase: essential skills include Postgres data modeling, Row Level Security policies, and edge functions.

• Experience in deploying and managing applications on Vercel using Next.js.

• Disciplined use of GitHub: familiarity with branching strategies, pull requests, and managing preview/production environments via Vercel.

• Experience in creating and managing n8n workflows, including error handling and API/webhook integrations.

• Ability to understand and analyze the code generated by AI (TypeScript, SQL): while you will not be coding manually, you must grasp the underlying processes and identify any inaccuracies produced by the AI.

• Capable of producing Technical Design Documents (with AI) that address architecture, data models, and security to a standard suitable for approval.

• Experience in designing and developing agent-based workflows, including sub-agents and orchestration agents.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: sprint planning, daily standups, and delivering tasks in sprint increments.

• Strong skills in prompt engineering, with the ability to design, test, and refine complex prompts for various applications.

• Comfortable working with APIs (REST, webhooks, OAuth) and JSON.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to decompose complex processes into manageable, automatable steps.

• Proficient in written and spoken English, capable of producing clear documentation and training materials.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

• Self-motivated and organized work style, capable of managing workload independently in a remote setting that aligns with UK business hours.

• Naturally curious and committed to continuous improvement, staying ahead in the fast-evolving AI landscape.

• A formal background in software development: professional experience writing code by hand before transitioning to AI-accelerated workflows (Desirable).

• Experience with NetSuite: administration, saved searches, SuiteQL, or REST/OAuth integrations (Desirable).

• Familiarity with iPaaS or middleware platforms for system integration, particularly Patchworks (Desirable).

• Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar AI integration standards (Desirable).

• Familiarity with other AI platforms and models (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini) and the ability to objectively compare capabilities (Desirable).

• Experience working with e-commerce platforms, especially Shopify (Desirable).

• Knowledge of e-commerce operations including order management, inventory, and customer lifecycle (Desirable).

• Experience in or with D2C or multi-brand retail businesses (Desirable).
