AI-Native Platform Engineer – DevOps, Security & Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee operations of the production platform, which includes deployments, monitoring, alerts, updates, and ensuring reliability.

• Manage backups and regularly validate the functionality of restore processes.

• Handle access control, secrets management, cloud configurations, and perform security checks.

• Arrange HIPAA-related policies, controls, audit documentation, and customer security records.

• Identify, prioritize, and address platform and security vulnerabilities.

• Develop a daily security and compliance monitoring agent that reviews systems and reports findings.

• Collaborate weekly with a senior consultant in security and compliance.

• Create runbooks, checklists, and automation to streamline operational tasks.

• Assist in incident response, recovery efforts, and preventive measures.

• Enable other team members to focus on their primary roles by alleviating ad hoc platform and security tasks.

• Assess the current setup, demonstrate a backup restore and deployment rollback, and compile a prioritized list of improvements within the initial 30 days.

• Establish monitoring and alerting systems, address critical security vulnerabilities, initiate the first daily security/compliance agent, and organize compliance documentation within the first 90 days.

• Construct a dependable, secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that supports safe deployments, observability, tested recovery processes, controlled access, documented evidence, automated checks, and ongoing security awareness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in maintaining startup systems and platforms.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, backups, and recovery methodologies.

• Knowledge of access control, secrets management, cloud configurations, and fundamental security principles.

• Proven ability to restore backups and recover systems effectively.

• Proficiency in coding and automating routine platform or security tasks.

• Comfort with utilizing AI agents to develop automation and operational workflows.

• Ability to maintain composure during incidents and production challenges.

• Strong ownership and documentation practices.

• Practical approach to prioritizing risks instead of generating extensive theoretical lists.

• Experience in healthcare or HIPAA is considered a plus.

• A background in security, such as cloud security, SOC, or incident response, is advantageous.

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks, particularly HIPAA or SOC 2, is beneficial.

• Experience with Azure and AKS in production environments is a plus.

• Experience with Kubernetes at production scale is advantageous.

• Availability for necessary live collaboration from around 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST.

• Willingness to work approximately 50 hours per week.

• Experience in healthcare technology is preferred but not essential.
