This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Take ownership of quality assurance, serving as the final checkpoint before any product is deployed to production.
• Raise concerns early when project timelines are tight.
• Manage manual testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). Conduct exploratory, functional, regression, and user-acceptance tests — ensuring human oversight before customers access the product.
• Keep the Gherkin scenarios updated. This serves as the living source of truth regarding product behavior; review the test cases generated by AI for accuracy.
• Utilize automated testing effectively; don’t rely on manual execution. Guide AI in implementing and running Playwright/E2E and API tests; evaluate results to maintain a reliable and efficient suite.
• Approve each release. Conduct regression tests, determine go/no-go decisions, and manage release notes (drafted by AI, but under your purview).
• Act as the primary line of defense for production environments. Quickly validate, reproduce, and address customer-reported issues with the help of AI.
• Analyze results. Differentiate between genuine bugs and flaky tests, identify root causes (using AI along with Datadog/Sentry), and highlight only what requires human intervention.
• Continuously seek to automate your tasks with AI. If a task has been performed manually twice, automate it the third time. Support your claims with evidence.
• Provide clear bug reports that include root causes, regression checklists, screenshots, logs, and recordings, as tests serve as documentation.
• Become the product's secondary brain. Deeply understand the product and its users; translate that knowledge into accurate scenarios and relevant questions.
• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• A genuinely astute problem-solver — structured, analytical, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
• A dedicated learner who embraces new tools proactively.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals: HTTP, APIs, browser functionality, Docker — sufficient to debug, not just describe.
• Over 4 years of experience in QA/software testing, with extensive manual, exploratory, regression, UAT, and automation proficiency.
• A sincere motivation to automate repetitive tasks.
• Expertise in test-case design and Gherkin/BDD methodologies.
• Practical experience in E2E and API automation — proficiency in Playwright (our preferred tool) or strong experience with Cypress, with a readiness to transition — and comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript for reading, directing, and debugging.
• Enthusiastic about operating within an AI-first environment — guiding AI, assessing its outputs, and establishing processes around it.
• 24 vacation days annually, in addition to German public holidays (~13 days).
• Annual team events in Germany — we gather the entire team for in-person collaboration.
• A company-provided MacBook, if you do not already have a preferable device.
• A learning and wellness budget — we are committed to helping you excel in operating AI for quality assurance.
• An opportunity to influence quality assurance practices at a growing, category-defining platform from the ground up.
• Flexibility to work from anywhere during CET-friendly hours, alongside a positive and highly motivated international team.
• Access to a genuinely modern, AI-driven technology stack and a culture that values innovative thinking over mere compliance.
