AI Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Responsible for designing and implementing maintainable, well-tested backend services and full-stack applications, emphasizing Clean Code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and clean architecture.

• Engaged in the development of business-specific AI applications, including RAG systems, assistants, and generative text processing utilizing existing Large Language Models.

• Leverage modern AI tools to enhance development speed and quality.

• Integrate existing AI models and services into current systems and workflows seamlessly.

• Create data integration solutions for a continuous, automated flow of data.

• Prepare and process data specifically for AI applications.

• Design, document, and deploy well-defined APIs.

• Implement automated tests and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Continuously evaluate and improve software components and RAG pipelines.

• Contribute to optimizing business processes and achieving strategic company objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a senior position.

• Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, data engineering, and prototyping, or an equivalent programming language.

• Knowledge of TypeScript and/or C# is considered an advantage.

• Practical experience in Clean Code, Test-Driven Development, automated testing, and conducting code reviews.

• Solid understanding of RAG pipelines and vector databases.

• Hands-on experience with applications based on Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Strong backend fundamentals with basic knowledge of frontend technologies, such as TypeScript/React.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and align solutions with tangible business value.

• Proficient in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in the German language at a minimum C1 level, both written and spoken.

• Residency in Germany, Austria, or Spain is required.
