AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create data pipelines, scoring algorithms, and API infrastructure that drive an AI-based matching and recommendation system, converting complex multi-entity data into organized, usable outputs.

• Develop and sustain integrations between the matching engine and an established COTS (e.g., ServiceNow) program management platform, including API specifications, data transfer methods, and overall architecture.

• Collaborate with functional and technical subject matter experts to construct, test, and enhance user-configurable matching logic, validate algorithm outputs, and develop generative AI-enabled explainability features that enhance transparency and actionability of outputs.

• Partner with product managers and designers to support the development of prototypes and high-fidelity user experience designs, including vetting and refinement stages.

• Perform thorough testing of algorithm performance, pipeline reliability, and API functionality to guarantee scalability and precision prior to production integration.

• Work alongside development teams and stakeholders to identify technical obstacles, implement solutions, and make significant contributions within an agile framework.

• Ensure adherence to security protocols, government regulations, and industry best practices throughout all development activities.

• Document technical solutions, data models, and integration architectures to facilitate knowledge transfer and continuity across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Eligibility for a Secret clearance is required; an active Secret clearance is preferred.

• Proven experience and proficiency in utilizing AI coding tools to enhance existing codebases at scale.

• 3–5 years of full-stack engineering experience in production-grade applications.

• Strong backend development skills in Python, with a demonstrated capability to create data-intensive applications.

• Experience in designing and utilizing RESTful APIs for cross-system integrations.

• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred); familiarity with data modeling for complex, multi-entity schemas.

• Experience in building or working with scoring, ranking, or recommendation systems, even if outside a formal machine learning context.

• Familiarity with data pipeline development, encompassing ingestion, transformation, and structured output generation.

• Experience collaborating in agile environments with multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficiency in version control using Git (GitLab preferred).

• Experience with testing, security, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes, along with the ability to integrate with automated testing frameworks, adhering to security protocols and secure continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.

• Strong communication abilities — capable of articulating data model decisions and algorithm logic to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
