AI & Data Science Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report to a senior member of the AI & Data Science team

• Create predictive models utilizing Azure tools, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure ML Studio

• Develop data preparation and analysis scripts using Python with libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn

• Engage in discussions regarding dataset design and statistical modeling

• Incorporate process control solutions with data science models

• Design and implement GenAI solutions and applications in production enterprise settings

• Collaborate on full-stack development for small applications and optimize UI/UX workflows

• Apply and disseminate best practices for the design and delivery of GenAI hybrid search

• Assess and enhance the accuracy of GenAI models for extracting chemical property information from literature

• Improve accuracy and relevance metrics for hybrid search and RAG models utilized in Operations and Safety procedures

• Investigate machine-learning techniques for predicting chemical properties

• Collect UX requirements and develop front-end/UI applications using React, Flask, or Streamlit

• Design multi-agent systems that break down complex user requests into manageable subtasks

• Tackle real-world business challenges across R&D, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal, and Environment/Safety sectors

⛳️ Requirements

• Enrollment at an accredited college or university, pursuing or having recently obtained a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or Post-Doctoral degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering, Computational Chemistry, or a closely related field

• Over 2 years of programming experience with Python, particularly with libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn

• At least 1 year of practical experience in data science, developing predictive ML models that include feature selection and engineering, model selection and hyperparameter tuning, data cleansing, and data analysis; typical use cases may involve time-series data and/or chemical properties

• OR 1 year of practical experience in developing GenAI applications involving RAG, hybrid search, and UI development

• Quick learner and effective collaborator, capable of working efficiently with high productivity

• Excellent communication skills, able to convey findings to a non-technical audience

• Must not be enrolled in coursework concurrently with the internship

• Must be available to work comfortably from 8am to 5pm East Coast Time

• Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0 or above

• Preferred experience in enterprise environments and deploying applications and GenAI agents in production using Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS
