This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Facilitate AI adoption and deliver use-case implementations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders from Operations, Finance, and Technology to identify, prioritize, and define AI and automation use cases.
• Oversee the management of the AI use-case register, encompassing intake, prioritization, status tracking, and measurement of outcomes.
• Promote the use of deployed AI tools (such as Claude Enterprise and similar) through structured rollouts, training, and measuring usage by function.
• Remain informed about advancements in enterprise LLM and AI tooling; provide recommendations to the Data & AI Lead regarding relevant capabilities.
• Automation Engineering.
• Develop and implement production-grade automations utilizing Power Automate, Python, and API integrations, focusing on operational workflows spanning payments, FX, treasury, onboarding, and internal operations.
• Create and manage automated workflows and AI pipelines with human-in-the-loop controls, escalation procedures, and audit trails.
• Connect LLM workflows with internal systems and third-party APIs using the Claude API or comparable enterprise LLM APIs; Document all automation processes with comprehensive operational runbooks to ensure maintainability by others.
• Production Controls & Governance.
• Enforce production engineering standards across all AI deployments, including secrets management, prompt and model versioning, evaluation datasets, output quality thresholds, and observability.
• Establish cost monitoring and usage controls for LLM API consumption.
• Create and sustain rollback and kill-switch mechanisms for all production AI workflows.
• Implement personal data minimization principles, ensuring no personal data is included in prompts unless explicitly reviewed and approved.
• Provide technical contributions for vendor, security, privacy, and data-residency assessments for any new AI tools or integrations, collaborating with relevant control functions.
• Function within the AI governance framework, supplying technical evidence and control documentation to Compliance, Risk, Security, and the DPO as necessary.
• Stay updated on AI regulatory developments, including the EU AI Act timetable, and communicate implications to the Data & AI Lead and Compliance.
• SOP & Process Redesign.
• Collaborate with Operations to evaluate existing SOPs and identify opportunities for automation to minimize manual effort, reduce error risk, or improve processing time.
• When automation is not immediately applicable, document enhanced manual processes that are ready for automation.
• Assess and report on the impact of automation, including hours saved, error reduction, and throughput enhancements.
• 3–6 years of practical experience in software or automation engineering.
• Proficiency in Python (e.g., scripting, API integration, workflow automation).
• Hands-on experience working with enterprise LLM APIs, such as Claude API, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar.
• Familiarity with Power Automate or similar low-code/no-code automation platforms in a production environment.
• Capability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into effective solutions.
• Knowledge of production controls: secrets management, versioning, observability, error handling, and rollback procedures.
• Excellent written English skills for documentation, runbooks, and communication with stakeholders.
