This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Assist the Director of Acquisitions and Senior Project Leader with the procurement of multifamily senior housing projects.
• Identify, assess, underwrite, and model potential acquisition opportunities to ascertain the maximum offer price and financial feasibility.
• Create presentations, pitch books, and proposal materials for prospective sellers.
• Organize, evaluate, analyze, and summarize project due diligence, which includes compliance, market studies, appraisals, environmental assessments, and capital needs evaluations.
• Provide recommendations based on findings that impact operations, finances, and future investment strategies.
• Facilitate real estate transactions in coordination with sellers, third-party vendors, title companies, external legal counsel, HUD, agencies, and property management teams.
• Aid in the preparation and submission of HUD, LIHTC, HOME, and FHLB applications.
• Transition property assets to the Construction, Housing, and Asset Management teams.
• Oversee project timelines, checklists, deal milestones, and relevant deadlines.
• Manage deal flow using Smartsheet and M-Files.
• Support reporting for the Board, Investment Corporation, and Internal Investment Committee.
• Prepare industry-specific presentations and perform additional assigned tasks.
• Travel for site visits related to potential acquisitions as necessary.
• Participate in team meetings and conferences as required.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; a background in business, finance, accounting, or real estate is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in affordable housing syndication, origination, deal flow, or underwriting.
• Familiarity with affordable housing principles and market dynamics.
• Capability to take ownership of projects and work with a high level of independence.
• Highly effective communication, presentation, and listening abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to comprehend data and follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Collaborative skills with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet concurrent deadlines.
• Willingness to travel and attend evening meetings on a limited basis.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to adhere to National Church Residences’ motor vehicle policy.
