This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Review printed and digital materials that cannot be accessed by assistive technology.
• Edit documents produced by assistive technology to ensure accuracy and proper formatting.
• Gather and systematize both electronic and physical files.
• Perform minor research when certain websites or platforms are not accessible.
• Create business documents, including letters, memos, and reports.
• Assist with timekeeping and forms related to personnel matters.
• Provide support for clerical tasks such as document preparation and filing.
• Interpret and describe visual content like graphs and charts.
• Distill and summarize lengthy or complex information.
• Maintain regular communication with the employee being supported.
• Coordinate responsibilities in alignment with the employee’s work schedule.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
• Operate assistive technology devices.
• Uphold the confidentiality of both personal and work-related information.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• An undergraduate degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with working alongside blind and low-vision individuals is necessary.
• Understanding of reading service techniques for individuals with disabilities is essential.
• Proficient knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage is required.
• Knowledge of assistive technology for blind individuals, including screen readers, is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows-based tools.
• Experience in proofreading and editing digital documents is necessary.
• Ability to summarize and condense complex materials is crucial.
• Professional-level typing and keyboarding skills are required.
• Ability to interpret and describe visual or non-verbal content is important.
• Capability to conduct minor research for inaccessible content is needed.
• Skills in organizing documents and performing light filing are required.
• Understanding of professional terminology is necessary.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently perform general clerical tasks is essential.
• Outstanding oral communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills are a must.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to work during Pacific Time hours.
• A background investigation is mandatory.
• Compliance with federal drug-free workplace regulations is required.
• Experience in supporting blind or low-vision individuals is preferred.
• $5.09 per hour in health and wellness benefits.
