Adjunct Faculty – PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct affiliate faculty courses within the PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision program.

• Develop and deliver courses in accordance with CAGS standards and expectations.

• Provide teaching, evaluate student learning outcomes, and engage in program assessment.

• Conduct courses employing both synchronous and asynchronous methods, including blended formats for adult learners.

• Utilize Brightspace along with other designated technologies.

• Evaluate, validate, and suggest enhancements for student learning and the PhD-CES program to foster ongoing quality improvement.

• Engage in affiliate faculty development initiatives and fulfill required training badges.

• Contribute to CCU's mission through participation in committees, task forces, teamwork, community development, and related internal or external activities.

• Fulfill the expectations outlined in the CCU Faculty Handbook, CAGS Faculty Handbook, and PhD-CES faculty job description.

• Sustain professional counseling memberships, certifications/licenses, professional development, service, advocacy, research, and scholarly endeavors.

• Maintain clinical proficiency in the specialized practice area.

• Comply with state governing-body standards, the ACA Code of Ethics, ACES best practices, and CACREP standards.

• Work irregular hours occasionally, including some nights and weekends, as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision, ideally from a CACREP-accredited program.

• A minimum of 2-4 years teaching experience in a graduate-level counseling program.

• Clinical experience relevant to graduate and doctoral-level instruction.

• Appropriate certification and/or licensure (e.g., LPC, LMHC).

• Knowledge and practical application of adult learning theory in an educational setting.

• A history of active scholarship, including peer-reviewed publications or presentations at professional conferences.

• Familiarity with ethical standards of practice for professional counseling and counselor education and supervision.

• Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively within the CCU community.

• Eagerness to excel in technological course resources.

• Proficiency in relevant Microsoft Office software.

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with evangelical Christian beliefs.

• Ability to express personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in a professional context.

• Strong sense of calling toward the ministry of Colorado Christian University.

• Regular attendance and meaningful participation in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.

• Knowledge of Scripture and a passion for Christian education.

• Lifestyle consistent with CCU’s Statement of Faith and Strategic Priorities.

• Must live and work legally in the U.S.; all work responsibilities are to be performed within the U.S.

• Preferred: prior involvement in curriculum development and CACREP program accreditation.

• Preferred: experience mentoring master’s or doctoral students on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research projects.

• Preferred: extensive background in counselor supervision.

• Preferred: leadership experience in professional counseling organizations.
