Adjunct Faculty – Marriage and Family Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Teach designated MMFT courses in asynchronous, synchronous, or hybrid online formats

• Deliver course material in alignment with approved syllabi, program outcomes, university regulations, and relevant COAMFTE standards

• Incorporate systemic and relational theory, clinical practice, ethics, research, and cultural responsiveness into teaching

• Facilitate student learning through discussions, case analyses, experiential activities, video conferencing, and various online methods

• Maintain an active and consistent presence in the online classroom environment

• Provide clear, timely, substantive, and developmentally appropriate feedback

• Assess student performance fairly and consistently according to established course and program criteria

• Respond to student inquiries within the specified university and program timeframes

• Identify and communicate any academic, professional, ethical, or clinical concerns to program leadership

• Keep accurate records of course activities, attendance, assessments, and grades

• Safeguard student and client confidentiality, adhering to FERPA, HIPAA when applicable, professional ethics, and university policies

• Participate in orientation, faculty development, program assessment, meetings, and accreditation activities as requested

• Collaborate with the Program Director, clinical leadership, core faculty, adjunct faculty, and university personnel

• Lead scheduled live group supervision or clinical consultation sessions for practicum or clinical training courses

• Assist students in applying systemic theory, case conceptualization, ethics, research, and cultural responsiveness in clinical practice

• Review clinical presentations, recordings, documentation, and other observable clinical data as permitted by law and university policy

• Assess students’ clinical competencies, ethical conduct, professional demeanor, and readiness for ongoing clinical training

• Monitor advancement towards program clinical requirements in collaboration with designated clinical personnel

• Report concerns regarding student performance, client welfare, supervision, site compliance, or professional behavior

• Complete necessary onboarding and training, prepare course materials ahead of the term, maintain consistent engagement, meet grading and reporting deadlines, and remain accessible to students and program leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Earned doctorate in marriage and family therapy from a COAMFTE-accredited program, or an earned doctorate in a closely related behavioral-health field from an appropriately accredited institution

• Active licensure as a marriage and family therapist

• Current status as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate

• Graduate-level qualifications and professional expertise relevant to the assigned course

• Understanding of systemic and relational theories, MFT practice, professional ethics, and culturally responsive care

• Relevant clinical, teaching, research, or professional experience

• Prior experience in graduate-level teaching, preferably in an online or hybrid setting

• Experience teaching or supervising from a systemic and relational viewpoint

• Familiarity with COAMFTE standards and MFT program evaluation

• Experience working with diverse individuals, couples, families, and communities

• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills

• Capability to collaborate effectively and meet instructional and administrative deadlines

• Evidence of ongoing professional development, scholarship, clinical practice, or service to the profession

• Proficiency in using the university’s learning management system, video-conferencing tools, and other instructional technologies

• Candidates must submit a letter of interest, current curriculum vitae or résumé, graduate transcripts, proof of professional licensure and AAMFT supervision credentials, professional references, and evidence of teaching effectiveness if available
