Adjunct Faculty, Leadership and Curriculum Studies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Uphold a robust academic presence while engaging in ongoing professional growth in teaching, research or creative endeavors, and service.

• Report directly to the department chair.

• Engage with students in a professional manner.

• Create and maintain a safe and productive learning atmosphere.

• Address student inquiries promptly and reach out to inactive students when necessary.

• Assess course functionality and content to guarantee high-quality delivery.

• Enrich course materials with personal experiences, insights, and professional expertise.

• Oversee and provide constructive feedback on assignments.

• Analyze and report on student performance metrics.

• Adhere to and promote program and institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Tackle issues related to ethical conduct, plagiarism, and copyright, reporting violations appropriately.

• Guide students toward additional resources.

• Collaborate with colleagues and college leadership, including attending mandatory meetings.

• Advocate for the college's vision, mission, and culture.

• Exhibit leadership within one’s area of influence.

• Engage in workshops, seminars, professional publications, networks, and professional organizations.

• Stay informed about emerging trends and issues relevant to the department.

• Encourage and support research initiatives to maintain program and course quality.

• Communicate with students and staff in real time via online and electronic platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a terminal degree(s) in a field relevant to the department.

• At least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.

• A minimum of 3 peer-reviewed professional publications and presentations.

• 1+ year(s) of experience in teaching and leadership within a formal educational environment.

• Preferred experience in higher education teaching.

• Familiarity with both traditional and non-traditional teaching methodologies.

• Proven track record of developing online/virtual professional relationships.

• Demonstrated professional research or creative work and expertise in the field.

• Outstanding communication, organization, and time management abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively with department staff.

• Must support and embody the College's Impact mission.

• Minimum internet bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload required from the remote work location.

• Reliable internet service is necessary, with the responsibility for purchase, setup, installation, support, and maintenance resting with the individual.

• Candidates must not reside in Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, or Alabama.
