Adjunct Faculty Instructor – Naval Force Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Attend mandatory onboarding and course orientation before teaching.

• Prepare supplementary materials incorporating current events and/or pertinent past experiences for approval from the USNCC Dean and/or Associate Dean of the Academics Program.

• Instruct assigned undergraduate-level online asynchronous courses in alignment with USNCC policies, syllabi, and instructional standards.

• Utilize the USNCC Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver instruction.

• Facilitate dynamic online discussions that foster critical thinking and encourage active student engagement.

• Evaluate assignments, examinations, discussion posts, and projects using established grading rubrics.

• Provide comprehensive written feedback that enhances student learning and academic achievement.

• Monitor student progress throughout the course and proactively identify those at risk of academic difficulties.

• Maintain regular communication with students and respond to inquiries within set response timeframes.

• Prepare a weekly progress report.

• Submit all grades and necessary documentation by prescribed deadlines.

• Compile end-of-course reports summarizing student performance and offering recommendations for course enhancements.

• Participate in faculty meetings and collaborate with Course Leads, Academic Affairs, and Student Services as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

• Relevant military experience or comparable experience in government and/or working with military personnel.

• Experience teaching at the college level in an online learning environment using Learning Management Systems (Blackboard or similar LMS).

• Appropriate academic qualifications and a record of scholarship/research relevant to the assigned teaching role.

• Demonstrated expertise in U.S. national security studies, American government, political science, organizational design, naval engineering, and systems engineering.

• Previous experience teaching courses in U.S. defense strategy/policy, introduction to U.S. politics and government, systems engineering, naval systems design, public policy, and public policy analysis.

• A Master's degree (Doctorate preferred) in a relevant discipline or a Bachelor's degree combined with specific high-level professional experience.

• Demonstrated understanding of Andragogy and Adult Learning Theory.

• Significant and substantive relevant experience in a military or related setting that qualifies you uniquely or substantially to teach the specific subject area.
