
Adjunct Faculty, Data Analytics – Advanced Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Instruct a graduate-level course on Advanced Analytics/analytics-statistics in alignment with the curriculum, content, and outcomes determined by the Lead Faculty.
• Deliver high-quality instruction and foster a supportive learning atmosphere for busy working adult learners.
• Conduct online class sessions throughout a 12-week course duration.
• Create PowerPoint presentations, lesson plans, demonstrations, and examples from various disciplines.
• Employ statistical analysis techniques and analytical tools such as R and Python during demonstrations.
• Oversee and guide students on course-related assignments.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries via email.
• Facilitate discussions related to course content.
• Maintain regular office hours for student support.
• Timely assess and evaluate student assignments, exams, homework, quizzes, projects, discussions, and other course activities.
• Engage in adjunct MATH/DATA faculty meetings, retreats, and departmental activities.
• Address requests from the Lead Faculty concerning various course components.
• A doctoral degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• If the degree is in a related area, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours must be in the specified fields.
• A minimum of three years of online teaching experience in higher education is required.
• Proficiency in video conferencing platforms is essential.
• Strong familiarity with online learning management systems is necessary.
• Knowledge and experience with various analytics software, including Tableau, R, and Python, are required.
• Exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for teaching Analytics/Statistics are essential.
• Must demonstrate flexibility and integrity.
• Preferred: A doctoral degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business with at least 18 credit hours in Mathematics, Data Science, or Statistics; or a doctoral degree in these fields with a graduate certificate in Data Science.
• Preferred: A minimum of 5 years of industry experience with projects aimed at achieving course outcomes.
• Preferred experience in data science, data analytics, data visualization, and machine/statistical learning.
• Industry certifications in data science or analytics are preferred.
• Candidates must be eligible for employment in the available location; Franklin University cannot hire in California, New York, Massachusetts, Montana, or the City of Philadelphia.
