This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Act as the functional and business authority for processes associated with IFRS 17.
• Comprehend and document the existing processes carried out in SAS, Alteryx, and other relevant systems.
• Chart the As-Is processes and assist in defining the To-Be model within Databricks.
• Gather, analyze, and articulate functional requirements, business rules, calculations, controls, reconciliations, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify inputs, transformations, dependencies, outputs, and current integrations in the IFRS 17 process.
• Serve as the bridge between actuarial, accounting, finance, and technology perspectives of the project.
• Aid in translating accounting and actuarial rules into precise requirements for the Data Engineering and Development teams.
• Confirm rules related to measurement, movements, accounting recognition, and disclosure of insurance contracts.
• Assist in defining and validating contract groupings, portfolios, cohorts, and units of account.
• Validate treatments relevant to various measurement models, including GMM/BBA, PAA, and VFA, as they pertain to the insurer's operations.
• Support the validation of concepts and components such as CSM, Risk Adjustment, future cash flows, discounting, LRC, LIC, onerous contracts, and held reinsurance.
• Engage in defining accounting entries, financial events, and integrations with subledger, general ledger, and corporate systems.
• Facilitate reconciliations between source data, actuarial results, IFRS 17 movements, and accounting records.
• Develop and execute functional, integrated, regression, and user acceptance test scenarios.
• Monitor closing cycles and analyze discrepancies between the current and new solutions.
• Thoroughly evaluate result variances, determining whether causes stem from data, rules, parameters, calculations, or processes.
• Assist in defining internal controls, audit trails, traceability, evidence, and process governance.
• Engage with internal and external auditors as necessary, providing clarifications and required evidence.
• Conduct workshops, interviews, and meetings with stakeholders across business and technology domains.
• Aid in the creation of functional documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer to teams accountable for the process.
• Contribute to the planning of the transition, parallel run, go-live, and stabilization of the new solution.
• Demonstrated experience in projects, processes, or operations related to IFRS 17.
• Relevant background in the insurance, reinsurance, pension, or specialized consulting sectors for insurers.
• Strong understanding of accounting and actuarial processes in an insurance context.
• Familiarity with the measurement models outlined in IFRS 17, particularly GMM/BBA, PAA, and VFA.
• Knowledge of components such as CSM, Risk Adjustment, future cash flows, discount curves, LRC, LIC, onerous contracts, and held reinsurance.
• Capability to analyze intricate processes, identify dependencies, and clearly structure requirements.
• Experience in preparing and executing functional tests, user acceptance tests, and result validation.
• Proficiency in interacting with diverse audiences, including Accounting, Actuarial, Finance, Technology, Data, Audit, and executives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
