Actuarial Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized actuarial advice and support.

• Collaborate with fellow actuaries and other professionals.

• Create charts, models, tables, and various tools to illustrate conclusions.

• Articulate complex information understandably during meetings.

• Analyze results showcasing expertise in actuarial concepts and methodologies.

• Prepare and maintain models and reports, participating in reconciliation of results.

• Assist in formulating responses to business inquiries using data.

• Complete assigned ad hoc projects in a timely manner.

• Aid in the monthly financial closing process to calculate and validate reserves and help prepare financial statements.

• Contribute to the upkeep of pricing models and assist in product pricing.

• Support the creation and dissemination of various experience studies.

• Assist with cash flow testing and other projection-related tasks, including sensitivity analyses and risk-based capital projections.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related technical field.

• Less than 1 year of relevant experience; an actuarial internship is preferred.

• Preference for candidates with 1+ actuarial exams completed and an interest in pursuing FSA.

• Prior experience with modeling software is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

• Capability to learn and effectively use actuarial software systems.

• Must possess exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

• Strong problem-solving skills, including advanced analytical and reasoning capabilities.

• A team player who can serve as a vital member of a small group.

• Self-motivated individual demonstrating initiative and the ability to work efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments.

• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
