This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess and evaluate the probability of upcoming events to mitigate and manage potential financial risks.
• Contribute to the pricing and rate submissions for pet insurance offerings.
• Deliver analysis and inventive solutions to inform decision-making processes.
• Execute and interpret actuarial analyses, valuations, cost assessments, and modeling utilizing mathematics, statistical programming, and financial principles.
• Prepare rate submissions, pricing evaluations, and experience reports for review.
• Aid in the completion of rate filing documents across all states.
• Conduct research on rate filings as necessary.
• Maintain and refresh existing models, tools, and files utilized for analysis.
• Fulfill ad hoc reporting requirements.
• Analyze rate objections and formulate responses along with rating support.
• Interpret rate regulations and apply them to the development and support of ratings.
• Convey results and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as management.
• Carry out other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to pass actuarial examinations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with SQL, R, or Python is advantageous.
• Capability to articulate complex ideas, product specifics, and analyses to both technical and non-technical internal stakeholders and management.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
