This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Acquire and apply actuarial methodologies and practices.

• Evaluate data, create materials, and prepare communications.

• Gather and organize data for actuarial assessment.

• Generate reports, proposals, system documents, filing support, and documentation files.

• Assist on projects as needed.

• Establish pricing and/or reserves for property/casualty insurance products and coverage.

• Develop and interpret mathematical models for ratemaking and/or reserving.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses including classification, inflation, and tail factor evaluations.

• Aid in state and regulatory filings and address auditor and DOI inquiries.

• Collect and validate data in collaboration with IT and business technical support.

• Utilize actuarial methods and principles to derive indications, complete projects, analyze results, and provide recommendations.

• Investigate appropriate trend indications.

• Present findings and deliver oral presentations to business units.

• Act as a representative of the department on inter-departmental teams.

• Perform scheduled rate reviews and indications.

• Evaluate and compile competitive product and rate comparison reports.

• Analyze the rate structures and coverage of competitors.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the U.S. immediately.

• Employer does not provide sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.

• Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams prior to or within 18 months of hire.

• Must maintain eligibility in the Actuarial Professional Development Program.

• Experience in conducting research and performing statistical analysis.

• Proficient in PC software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with statistical software tools and/or concepts related to statistical modeling.

• Capable of preparing and presenting materials effectively.

• Ability to manage workflow to meet multiple objectives.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Preferred: successful completion of one or more CAS or SOA examinations.

• Preferred: proven experience applying actuarial concepts in business and analytical decision-making.

• Knowledge of insurance industry terminology and concepts.

• Background check and drug screening required upon receiving an employment offer.

• Consistent and reliable attendance is crucial.
