This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a designated portfolio of insurance accounts receivable, managing the process from claim submission to final resolution.
• Follow up with payers regarding outstanding claims, underpayments, and discrepancies in payments.
• Investigate and address claim denials and rejections through corrected claims, appeals, and reconsiderations.
• Review claim edits and rejections while collaborating with the RCM team to identify root causes.
• Post and reconcile insurance payments, adjustments, remittances, and any unapplied cash.
• Research overpayments and underpayments based on contracted reimbursement rates.
• Monitor and report on AR aging, denial trends, and the accuracy of payment postings for the weekly RCM flash report.
• Address patient inquiries regarding claims, balances, and billing, escalating payer or system issues as necessary.
• Identify recurring reimbursement or process challenges and propose solutions.
• Work in partnership with operations, finance, clinical, and product teams.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, specifically in accounts receivable, payment posting, or insurance billing.
• Proficient understanding of medical billing, insurance claims processing, and payer reimbursement practices.
• Proven experience in resolving claim denials, underpayments, and discrepancies in payments.
• Familiarity with posting payments and reconciling ERAs, EOBs, deposits, and unapplied cash.
• Ability to work remotely and independently manage priorities and queues.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
• Proficient in asynchronous communication via Slack and email, with participation in virtual meetings.
• Capability to function effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and REAL ID.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Preferred: Experience in startup, high-growth healthcare, or telehealth environments.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Candid, Availity, or similar claims and payer-connectivity platforms.
• Preferred: Experience in women's health, maternal health, or lactation coding.
• Preferred: CRCR, CPB, CPC, or other healthcare revenue cycle certifications.
