Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage with insurance payers regarding outstanding claims, eliminate payment barriers, and expedite cash collections.

• Pursue and collect on assigned accounts utilizing strategies and tools to resolve claims and secure payments.

• Elevate unpaid claims to payer claims supervisors when routine follow-up fails to yield results.

• Record client host-system activities adhering to the 5 W’s framework and relevant policies and procedures.

• Transfer account notes into Amplify’s workflow tool.

• Assign suitable status codes in Amplify to identify and address emerging trends.

• Compose first- and second-level appeals for denials to challenge decisions and ensure payment.

• Report payer denials and other trends to Management for further action.

• Manage assigned underpayments as directed by Management.

• Uphold daily productivity and quality standards.

• Investigate and analyze correspondence related to assigned accounts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be adaptable and exhibit the ability to work independently from home in a dynamic, fast-paced, and goal-driven environment.

• Experience in direct account follow-up and/or billing is required.

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG is essential.

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel is preferred.

• Ability to provide information regarding patient accounts while maintaining confidentiality.

• Understanding of the entire revenue cycle is necessary.

• Must be detail-oriented and organized, possessing strong critical thinking skills.

• Capability to assist with problem-solving, inquiries, and customer interactions.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• 3–5 years of collections experience in a Hospital Business Office is necessary.
