Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Follow up with insurance payers regarding outstanding claims.

• Identify and eliminate barriers to payment while expediting cash collections.

• Manage and collect on assigned accounts.

• Implement follow-up strategies and utilize tools to resolve claims and secure payment.

• Elevate unresolved claims to payer claims supervisors when necessary.

• Document client host systems in line with the 5 W’s framework and relevant policies/procedures.

• Transfer account notes into Amplify’s workflow tool.

• Assign status codes in Amplify to pinpoint and manage trends.

• Draft first- and second-level appeals for denials to ensure payment is received.

• Report payer denial trends and other issues to management.

• Address assigned underpayments as directed by management.

• Meet daily productivity and quality standards.

• Investigate and analyze correspondence related to assigned accounts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to work autonomously from home in a dynamic, fast-paced, and goal-driven environment.

• Experience in direct account follow-up and/or billing.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes.

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel is preferred.

• Ability to protect confidential patient account information.

• Understanding of the complete revenue cycle.

• Highly detail-oriented and organized.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in managing inquiries and engaging in customer interactions.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Additional training in hospital insurance collections is advantageous.

• 3–5 years of experience in accounts receivable / collections.

• Experience with Meditech Expanse is a plus.

• Reliable internet connection, a quiet dedicated workspace, and necessary office equipment are required.

• Ability to communicate daily with team members, management, and clients through email, phone, video meetings, and collaborative tools.
