This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes across various entities, ensuring precision, completeness, and timeliness.

• Oversee the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, FX revaluation, and relevant supporting schedules.

• Execute a standardized closing calendar and checklist; drive the closing process to completion with defined deadlines and accountability.

• Manage a monthly exceptions queue (missing invoices, unidentified flows, stale reconciliation items) and ensure consistent resolution.

• Keep documentation in an audit-ready state by default (organized evidence chain and clear support for each material balance or transaction).

• Take ownership of bookkeeping across all entities; ensure uniform policies, coding, and documentation standards.

• Maintain smooth intercompany operations: invoicing, intercompany reconciliations, and balances (including interest accruals as applicable).

• Support arm’s-length and related-party hygiene with clear narratives and documentation (agreements, approvals, invoices, and reconciliations).

• Lead the comprehensive accounting of crypto transactions across wallets, exchanges/custodians, networks, and tokens.

• Ensure that crypto balances are reconciled and backed by robust audit trails (wallet addresses, transaction hashes, exchange statements, etc.).

• Establish clear classification rules for crypto flows (e.g., distinguishing revenue from other income, custody transfers from external payments, gas/fees, staking/yield, airdrops, liquidity provision).

• Maintain schedules for realized versus unrealized gains/losses and cost basis/lots as required for reporting and CPA support.

• Implement and uphold financial controls suitable for a lean team (approvals, segregation of duties where feasible, documentation standards).

• Keep a compliance calendar (in collaboration with external advisors) and ensure that recurring obligations are tracked and supported.

• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel to meet multi-jurisdictional requirements.

• Provide clear, management-ready reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and concise variance narratives.

• Generate burn reporting and spending insights (top vendors/categories, drivers, and suggestions for savings and efficiency).

• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process (annual budget plus rolling forecast; budget vs actual with variance explanations).

• Maintain visibility over fiat accounts and crypto holdings; support payment operations with robust authorization and recordkeeping.

• Produce regular cash/treasury reports (balances, upcoming obligations, runway snapshot, and operational risk flags).

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, controllership, or finance operations roles, with complete ownership of closing and reporting.

• Previous experience in web3/crypto companies, exchanges, or operations heavily focused on crypto - Mandatory.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/GAAP-level knowledge pertinent to the role).

• Proven experience in multi-entity accounting and operations across various jurisdictions.

• Crypto-native accounting expertise: wallets/exchanges, reconciliation, audit trails, and controls tailored for crypto.

• Strong documentation discipline and integrity (audit-ready by default).

• Comfortable working in a lean, high-ownership environment—capable of executing and enhancing systems simultaneously.

• Exceptional written communication skills; able to articulate financial matters clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Xero (core accounting) - Mandatory.

• Familiarity with Cryptio (crypto accounting/reconciliation) - Mandatory.

• Nice to Have: Experience in bookkeeping and compliance across one or more of the following: US, SVG (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), Panama, and UAE.

• Experience in supporting audits, due diligence, or fundraising efforts.

• Familiarity with crypto accounting tools beyond Cryptio and/or blockchain analytics explorers.

• Resources to perform at your best, including necessary tools, structured onboarding, and opportunities for growth.

• At ChainGPT, we prioritize Trust, Effective Speed, Innovation, and Growth.
