Accounting Services Associate IV, Japanese Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Execute the record to report function, ensuring that journal entries are accurately recorded in the company’s accounting ledger.

• Liaise with a supervisor or the client's manager to facilitate smooth accounting closure at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.

• Collaborate with Junior staff on monthly accounting period closure activities for one or more entities.

• Conduct monthly accounting period closure activities for one or more entities.

• Coordinate and address feedback and necessary inquiries related to the client being served.

• Provide guidance and support to Junior staff as needed within the team.

• Maintain accounting controls by updating and recommending policies and procedures in DTP.

• Prepare and post various general accounting journal entries.

• Make adjustments to entries as required to correct errors or modify the company’s accounts, subject to approval.

• Manage all banking journal records, ensuring daily bank statements are updated regularly.

• Prepare reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.

• Verify and follow up on necessary documentation, including the creation of Fixed assets in the client's system.

• Provide financial information to clients and analyze accounting data by preparing monthly schedules and reports.

• Resolve issues by reconciling financial discrepancies and informing the clients served.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience in RTR or full set of accounts.

• Minimum of one year of experience with SAP.

• Experience in MNC shared services is preferred, especially within Asia Pacific countries.

• Proficiency in Japanese is essential for servicing clients in Japan.

• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken Japanese and English.

• Proficient in basic and intermediate Excel (including PivotTables and formula linking) and Microsoft Word.

• A responsible, tactful, self-motivated personality with the ability to coach junior team members.

• Capable of working under pressure during month-end closures and providing ad-hoc support as needed.
