Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Manage the entire accounting cycle for roofing and construction operations, which includes reconciliations, month-end and year-end closings, and financial reporting to leadership.

• Supervise job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules across multiple ongoing projects.

• Take responsibility for percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing for residential, commercial, and federal projects.

• Serve as a crucial financial decision-maker while ensuring speed, accuracy, and compliance.

• Lead the integration and enhancement of external applications with QuickBooks Online.

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, manage expenses, handle subcontractor payments, and interact with vendors and clients.

• Address and resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Ensure compliance for federally funded projects, including certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation.

• Review and mentor accounting support staff or bookkeepers, providing coaching and constructive feedback.

• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

• Enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.

• Utilize accounting, collaboration, and productivity tools on a daily basis.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and AI applications, advocating for tools that improve efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of accounting experience with companies based in the U.S.

• Proven experience managing a full-cycle accounting function.

• CPA certification is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated success in managing external stakeholders and cross-functional relationships.

• Strong understanding of construction or job-costed accounting practices.

• Capability to lead accounting operations across multiple active projects.

• Sound financial judgment in high-pressure, rapidly growing business environments.

• Experience in reviewing or guiding other accounting personnel is an advantage.

• Familiarity with accounting for federal or government-funded projects is a strong plus, but not mandatory.

• Essential proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Drive.

• Highly desirable experience with Bill.com, ClickUp, Gusto, and Ramp.

• Experience integrating external applications with QuickBooks Online.

• Familiarity with construction-specific job costing or project management software, such as JobNimbus or AccuLynx, is a bonus.

• Awareness of AI applications in accounting is an advantage.

• Full professional fluency in English, both written and verbal.

• Ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts to non-financial leaders, project managers, and field teams.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across digital platforms.

• Proactive, solutions-oriented leadership with excellent time management, organization, and independent problem-solving abilities.

• High degree of ownership, sound judgment, and adaptability in a remote, fast-growing environment.

• Must currently reside in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.
