This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations for designated entities and business units.
• Review and authorize journal entries, account reconciliations, and accompanying schedules.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
• Monitor adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
• Aid in maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting.
• Lead segments of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Ensure the timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Prepare and evaluate financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide support for external audits and other compliance-related reviews.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and senior accountants.
• Set performance expectations and deliver continuous coaching and feedback.
• Review work products to guarantee accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Support accounting for healthcare-specific transactions, including: physician practice operations, revenue cycle and cash collections, physician compensation arrangements, payroll and benefits accounting, intercompany transactions, and management fee arrangements.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance teams to ensure precise financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Assist in the implementation of accounting system improvements and automation initiatives.
• Support the integration of newly acquired practices and entities.
• Develop and document standardized accounting procedures.
• A valid CPA license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• Experience in healthcare accounting, including physician practices, healthcare services organizations, hospitals, ambulatory care organizations, healthcare MSOs, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP and financial management systems (Netsuite and Workday Adaptive Analytics is a plus).
• Experience in a multi-entity or multi-location healthcare setting.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and practice integrations.
• Understanding of physician compensation models and healthcare revenue cycle processes.
