Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare and/or assess monthly reconciliations for cash in transit, cash, inventory, fixed assets, intangibles, and lease accounts.

• Ensure compliance with ASC 842 accounting standards across more than 180 leases.

• Maintain precise lease records within the Occupier platform.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with the real estate manager and consultants from Occupier.

• Review and verify monthly rent payments.

• Establish and uphold internal controls.

• Examine financial statement disclosures.

• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts for lease accounting, treasury, and cash accounting processes.

• Set up and review wire transfers and ACH transactions.

• Review weekly Accounts Payable ACH transactions.

• Supervise fixed assets, intangible assets, and work in progress.

• Complete monthly journal entries and reconciliations.

• Formulate a capitalization policy.

• Complete monthly and quarterly financial reporting.

• Prepare accruals for repairs and maintenance.

• Assist with tax reporting, filings, and payment processes.

• Investigate technical accounting issues and provide relevant guidance.

• Draft technical accounting memos, including those related to leases, revenue, and disposals.

• Create and maintain process memos and controls.

• Keep general ledger accounts updated and ensure their accuracy.

• Support the audit preparation process.

• Conduct ad hoc research and analysis, identify discrepancies, and propose improvements in efficiency and expenditure.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly analytical reviews.

• Aid in cash flow analysis and projections.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

• 7-10 years of experience in accounting.

• Preferred 2 to 3 years in public accounting.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in ASC 842 and ASC 606 standards.

• Strong attention to detail.

• In-depth technical accounting knowledge.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

• Preferred CPA certification or in the process of obtaining it.

• Preferred experience with NetSuite.

• Preferred familiarity with lease software, specifically Occupier.
