This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring precision and compliance with GAAP standards.
• Oversee the closing process, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Lead and mentor accounting personnel; delegate tasks, review their work, and offer coaching and constructive feedback.
• Guarantee accurate payroll processing and commission calculations that align with service contracts and internal guidelines.
• Manage timely and precise AP/AR processing, uphold adequate controls, and facilitate proactive collections.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, scrutinize entries, and ensure appropriate classification and documentation.
• Collaborate with FP&A or leadership to develop budgets, track performance, and deliver financial insights.
• Establish and monitor controls to protect company assets and ensure adherence to regulatory and audit standards.
• Act as the main liaison for external auditors; prepare schedules, documentation, and responses as needed.
• Discover and execute opportunities to automate billing, optimize payroll processes, and improve financial workflows.
• Regularly update accounting policies to align with the operational requirements of a service-based business.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a service-oriented setting.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control mechanisms.
• Proficient in accounting and billing systems utilized by service-based organizations.
• Advanced skills in Excel and comfortable handling financial data.
• Outstanding communication abilities and capacity to collaborate effectively across various departments.
• Strong organizational capabilities with a keen attention to detail and deadlines.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Competence in collaborating as part of a team.
• Ability to work remotely from a home office in North America.
