This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Assist in processing accounts payable, from entering invoices to executing check runs.
• Support accounts receivable functions, including customer invoicing and monitoring payments.
• Aid in job costing for government contracts.
• Document daily cash transactions and manage deposits.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for banks and accounts.
• Assist with payroll processing, including payroll journal entries and updates on vacation balances.
• Help maintain the general ledger and perform reconciliations.
• Contribute to month-end closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and forecasts as required.
• Maintain well-organized vendor files, accounting records, and relevant documentation.
• Prepare and revise recurring spreadsheets and tracking reports.
• Investigate accounting inquiries and help respond to client questions.
• Support the delivery of timely and accurate results to ensure a positive client experience.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, or industry preferred.
• A degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience with or for government contractors is necessary.
• Familiarity with Unanet, Costpoint, and/or QuickBooks is highly preferred.
• A foundational understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting is essential.
• Knowledge of government contracting concepts (FAR, indirect rates, job costing) is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail are required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
• Excellent, professional communication and customer service abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is necessary.
• A willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop in a client-facing environment is important.
