Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations for the assigned client portfolio.

• Accurately process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions within deadlines.

• Record payroll journal entries and assist with revenue recognition entries as needed.

• Carry out month-end closing procedures and prepare necessary schedules and supporting documents.

• Maintain organized, verifiable audit trails for all financial transactions.

• Engage directly with founders and client contacts daily to obtain information, clarify transactions, and resolve outstanding issues.

• Address client inquiries within one business day.

• Proactively update clients on the status of their accounts, questions, or any delays.

• Adhere to established procedures and document any deviations or updates.

• Recognize recurring issues or inefficiencies and propose enhancements.

• Utilize AI and automation to minimize manual tasks and enhance quality.

• Log time daily in Teamwork.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years managing transactional accounting for multiple clients simultaneously.

• Experience with outsourced accounting firms, virtual practices, multi-client bookkeeping settings, or public accounting.

• Comfortable discussing financial metrics with founders and business owners.

• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, including bank feeds, reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.

• Proven track record of meeting monthly closing deadlines in a high-volume, deadline-sensitive environment.

• Technologically adept and knowledgeable about AI; actively using AI in professional tasks.

• A self-motivated individual who takes responsibility within a small team and operates independently without constant supervision.
