This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Develops and implements both short-term and long-term strategic account plans for designated accounts; regularly assesses and provides status updates on progress against the account plan and sales budget.
• Proactively identifies customer requirements and collaborates closely with Balchem's Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, Customer Service, and Finance teams to deliver market-ready products and solutions.
• Gathers and analyzes marketing data to successfully achieve business objectives and strategies; monitors industry trends, competitive activities, product advancements, and market penetration; suggests actions to mitigate the loss of existing business and foster new business growth.
• Organizes, schedules, and conducts regular calls to assigned accounts; facilitates meetings involving various company professionals to offer multi-level support and build relationships.
• Oversees contracts and pricing, including negotiations, for assigned accounts.
• Provides and maintains accurate sales forecasts and is both accountable for and responsible for achieving budget and growth targets.
• Addresses customer inquiries regarding samples, technical/quality/regulatory information, and offers assistance with the use and application of products.
• Operates with limited supervision and direction.
• A Bachelor's degree with an MBA is mandatory; a technical degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive sales or business development experience, with at least the last 2+ years focused on managing multiple accounts in the food ingredient sector.
• Exceptional leadership, relationship-building, and negotiation skills, coupled with a proven history of developing and executing strategic plans, are essential.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong business acumen and the ability to lead and cultivate cross-functional opportunities between Balchem and their clients at all organizational levels.
• Must be prepared to travel up to 60% of the time, including overnight stays.
