This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of existing clients in Japan, focusing on retention, renewals, upselling, and expansion driven by adoption.
• Establish trusted executive and technical relationships with clients (in both Japanese and English). Conduct regular business reviews and develop expansion roadmaps aligned with business outcomes.
• Encourage customer adoption of Fivetran connectors and platform features through consultative, use-case driven discussions — translating technical capabilities into quantifiable business value.
• Oversee the complete contracting lifecycle for your portfolio: planning, strategy, negotiation, amendments, and execution (collaborating closely with Legal and Sales Operations).
• Deliver timely and precise forecasts for renewals, expansions, and amendments; ensure Salesforce and forecasting tools are current.
• Collaborate across functions with Customer Success Managers, Sales Engineers, Product, Marketing, and Partners/SIs to achieve excellent results and facilitate smooth implementation/migration projects.
• Act as the escalation point when challenges arise; resolve issues swiftly and transparently while maintaining customer relationships.
• Gather and relay customer feedback, competitive insights, and product requests to shape product and go-to-market strategies.
• Develop customer advocates and referenceable success stories tailored for the Japan market.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction (CSAT / NPS) and robust customer health metrics across your portfolio.
• Ensure consistent and predictable renewals along with measurable ARR expansion driven by adoption and usage.
• Provide accurate and timely forecasts with impeccable CRM maintenance.
• Foster strong, long-term relationships with customers and local partners/SIs.
• As part of our commitment to ensuring new hires succeed, all new sales team members participate in a one-week, in-person Revenue Bootcamp during their second week at Fivetran. This bootcamp, conducted at one of our designated company locations, requires travel and is a mandatory aspect of the onboarding process.
• Native Japanese speaker with strong professional proficiency in English (capable of daily business and executive communication).
• 3+ years (ideally 4–7) of proven success in SaaS Account Management, Customer Success, or Enterprise Account Executive roles managing renewals, upsells, and contracts.
• Excellent project management skills — capable of coordinating multi-stakeholder technical projects, migrations, and onboarding programs from start to finish.
• Exceptional integrity and customer-centric approach — you build trust and operate with transparency.
• Highly detail-oriented: excellent contract/review discipline, accurate forecasting, and thorough documentation.
• Demonstrated negotiation experience in handling renewals, amendments, and commercial discussions.
• Familiarity with CRM and forecasting tools (Salesforce preferred) and robust organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent accounts.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without formal authority.
• Familiarity with data platforms, ETL, analytics, or engineering teams is highly preferred (capable of engaging in technical discussions with architects and analytics leaders).
