This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
• Formulate and implement a detailed sales strategy for the territory, concentrating on high-potential industries, strategic target accounts, and significant opportunities.
• Discover, prioritize, and pursue new customer interactions within the designated territory, including direct engagements as well as opportunities through prime contractors, strategic partners, system integrators, and industry alliances.
• Establish and sustain robust, multi-level relationships with key decision-makers, engineering teams, procurement departments, and influential stakeholders throughout the territory.
• Develop and oversee account development plans that delineate growth strategies, competitive positioning, and long-term business expansion opportunities.
• Act as an industry expert, offering insights and value messaging to promote thought leadership and differentiate our solutions within the customer’s workflows.
• Achieve and surpass territory sales targets across the complete range of Tektronix’ test & measurement solutions.
• Actively generate leads, foster new relationships, and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to proposal creation, negotiation, and closure.
• Apply key account management principles to extend our presence within target accounts by identifying and engaging new programs, business units, applications, and technologies.
• Assist in contract and pricing negotiations to ensure mutually advantageous commercial agreements align with company goals.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, marketing, finance) to provide customized solutions and enhance customer value.
• Keep accurate and timely records of all sales activities, funnel updates, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
• Observe market trends, customer behaviors, competitive activities, and emerging technologies to inform engagement strategies and optimize return on investment.
• Serve as the “voice of the customer,” representing customer needs while balancing business priorities and operational capabilities.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand presence and develop new relationships.
• Provide continuous feedback to internal teams to influence product roadmap development priorities, feature enhancements, and availability timelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, systems engineering, physics, or a related field. Exceptions may be considered based on industry and sales experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in test & measurement sales with a proven ability to drive new business and manage customer accounts.
• Proven capability to stimulate new business growth and achieve results through effective key account management and structured, data-driven sales techniques.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to convert technical information into compelling customer value propositions.
• Highly organized, self-driven, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic sales environment.
• Proficient in CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and Microsoft Office 365.
• Openness to extensive travel (up to 50%) as necessary.
