Account Executive – Gaming, AdTech Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire sales process for gaming advertising sales accounts throughout Japan and the APAC region, encompassing prospecting and outreach, pitching, negotiation, and closing, with a strong focus on relationship building in accordance with Japanese business customs.

• Establish and nurture robust, trust-based, long-term relationships with game developers, publishers, and advertising agencies, serving as the main point of contact for Xsolla's ad monetization solutions in the Japanese market.

• Discover and create new business opportunities by utilizing existing networks, attending industry events, and proactively targeting key accounts within Japan's gaming advertising landscape.

• Craft customized account plans and pitch materials that align client objectives with Xsolla's product offerings, such as offerwall, rewarded ads, and performance-driven monetization tools, appropriately localized for the Japanese market.

• Work collaboratively with global product, marketing, and partner success teams to ensure effective delivery of client campaigns that meet performance goals.

• Track campaign performance, provide clients with regular reports and insights in both Japanese and English, and proactively recommend optimizations to enhance results and retention.

• Keep accurate and current records of all sales activities, pipeline status, and account details in CRM (Salesforce).

• Represent Xsolla at significant gaming and ad tech conferences and trade events across Japan and APAC, such as Tokyo Game Show, Japan IT Week, Pocket Gamer Connects Tokyo, and BitSummit.

• Offer market intelligence regarding advertiser trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the Japanese and APAC gaming sectors.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in digital advertising sales, ad tech, gaming monetization, or a closely related field within the Japanese market.

• A proven history of achieving or surpassing sales targets and managing a complete sales cycle from initial engagement to closing, with experience navigating Japan's multi-stakeholder decision-making processes.

• Strong comprehension of performance advertising models (CPI, CPA, CPM) and the mobile gaming ecosystem, along with familiarity with Japan's major publishers and platforms (Nintendo, Sony, Bandai Namco, DeNA, GREE, mixi, LINE Games).

• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, both written and spoken.

• Exceptional interpersonal and presentation abilities, with an understanding of Japanese business etiquette (keigo, nemawashi, ringi processes).

• Proficient in CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and standard sales tools.

• Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple accounts simultaneously while ensuring consistent follow-through aligned with client expectations.

• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Tokyo, Japan; eligible to work in Japan without requiring visa sponsorship.
