This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Holds overall accountability for the designated book of business concerning all elements of IMA’s program design, ongoing service strategy, and coordination of internal and external insurance services.
• Oversees the complete renewal process (including design, placement, and structure; establishing the game plan; coverage and loss assessment; reviewing policy and related documents; addressing coverage & premium discrepancies; ensuring data accuracy within AMS, etc.) for the assigned book of business.
• Develops marketing strategies, evaluates submissions, and engages in negotiations with underwriters to define the pertinent content for proposals.
• Contributes to acquiring new business by formulating insurance programs for new accounts.
• Creates 1- to 3-year risk management insurance plan objectives for clients.
• Maintains a deep understanding of clients' business operations, strategies, and requirements throughout the year to foster a robust, long-term partnership with assigned clients.
• Aligns with client priorities to grasp their business philosophy, then formulates a vision for their insurance program that aligns with their risk management objectives.
• Prepares for and leads meetings with key IMA stakeholders and clients.
• Strives for excellence in the field through continuous education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services.
• Cultivates and sustains relationships with carriers.
• Manages a book of business typically consisting of 20 to 30 clients with an estimated revenue between $1.7 Million and $2.1 Million.
• Less than 10% of the book of business revenue is derived from the Emerging market (under $25,000 in revenue).
• Less than 40% of the book of business revenue comes from the middle market ($25,000 - $100,000 in revenue), independent of additional oversight by an Account Executive.
• Over 50% of the book of business is centered on large/complex accounts ($100,000+ in revenue), with a pivotal role in managing these accounts based on primary industry levels.
• Spends over 10% of time assisting producers in securing new business.
• Provides management and coaching for client teams.
• Offers internal team management and coaching.
• Upholds and exemplifies IMA’s core values.
• Appreciates and acknowledges the significance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the insurance or related industry relevant to the assigned book of business.
• Capability to think strategically based on client priorities and market cycles.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
• Ability to delegate effectively and hold team members and partners accountable.
• Proficient in comprehending the client’s entire business as it pertains to insurance protection (aligning with their risk aversion levels) in relation to specific terms and conditions.
• Preferred experience with Applied Epic.
• Required proficiency in MS Office products (particularly PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Willingness to travel (up to 40% based on the assigned book of business).
• Committed to maintaining enhanced technical knowledge of both the insurance industry and relevant business sectors.
• Aims to strengthen the IMA brand as a subject matter expert (through conference speaking, white papers, carrier relationships, etc.).
• Holds a state property and casualty insurance license.
• Preferred possession of a general insurance designation.
• Preferred attainment of a formal specialty designation (such as ARM, CPCU, or industry-specific designation).
