• Propel growth and enhance client satisfaction within Guidehouse’s Energy Providers Practice by designing, marketing, and overseeing the delivery of strategic advisory, technology, and risk management consulting projects, primarily targeting Investor-Owned Utilities.
• Cultivate and expand long-lasting client relationships with key accounts to drive repeat business, consistently achieving and surpassing annual sales goals.
• Lead the identification and closure of new consulting opportunities.
• Establish deep, trusted advisor relationships with crucial stakeholders from Utility clients.
• Collaborate with senior consulting experts across Guidehouse’s delivery, solutions, and technology teams to effectively cross-sell a wider array of offerings to our Energy Provider clients.
• Enhance client business performance through benchmarking, process optimization, performance metrics, operating risk evaluations, and the application of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Evaluate and advise on the necessary business process and organizational changes to boost organizational efficiency.
• Construct results-driven business processes, develop and execute both long-term and short-term strategies, and transition business models for clients.
• Oversee the Western Interconnect project assignments, including team development, work plan outlining, technical guidance, and management of budget and timelines.
• Provide strategic industry insights, subject matter expertise, and thought leadership on project assignments within the business unit or across the organization.
• Utilize knowledge and expertise in Transmission planning (and operations) strategy and solutions that focus on coordinated operations, infrastructure resilience, and reliability assessments.
• Ensure effective representation of West Market clients in industry groups, including WECC, WestConnect, and other regional organizations.
• Possess Subject Matter Expertise in compliance-related matters and obligations.
• Responsible for assessing the impact of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other federal and state energy policies.
• Mentor and coach junior staff members.
• Oversee all facets of client relationships and ensure successful engagement delivery.
• Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident due to client engagement requirements.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field AND a minimum of ten (10+) years of management consulting experience in power utilities (excluding Oil & Gas or Telecommunications); Or a Master's degree in engineering, business, or a related field AND at least eight (8+) years of management consulting experience in power utilities (excluding Oil & Gas or Telecommunications).
• Demonstrated executive-level experience in power utilities/commercial energy business, with a robust background in the energy utility sector, including energy market infrastructure, asset management, regulation, and clean energy trends.
• Proven track record in leading business development efforts (writing proposals, identifying opportunities for scope expansion, and/or providing additional services) and managing account teams (developing and executing account plans and leading team activities).
• Experience throughout the full lifecycle of solutions, including strategy, planning, design, implementation (including technology integration), and operations.
• Capable of reviewing and occasionally preparing and delivering reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
• High level of self-assurance and determination.
• Advanced organizational and managerial capabilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple time-sensitive priorities and assignments without compromising effectiveness.
• Capacity to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and presentation software.
• Willingness to work onsite at a Guidehouse Office or Client Office.
• Ability to travel as necessary.
• Must currently reside within the United States Western Interconnect region.
