Academic Application Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist in the configuration, implementation, and continuous enhancement of academic technology platforms.

• Contribute to the deployment of a new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), encompassing configuration, data preparation, testing, integration, and go-live processes.

• Facilitate the transition and development of learner information management and student information systems.

• Convert curriculum, assessment, accreditation, and operational requirements into documented system configurations and technology strategies.

• Create, validate, and troubleshoot data imports across various academic technology platforms.

• Establish and maintain configuration standards, data mappings, and integration specifications.

• Collaborate with university IT teams, internal stakeholders, and technology vendors on system integrations, APIs, user provisioning, authentication, and data exchanges.

• Engage in requirements gathering and workflow analysis with faculty, academic administrators, and program leaders.

• Develop and conduct system testing, which includes configuration validation, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

• Assist in go-live readiness activities and provide post-launch support and troubleshooting.

• Identify application issues, workflow deficiencies, and opportunities for platform improvements.

• Keep documentation of system configurations, integration choices, data standards, workflows, and support procedures up to date.

• Work collaboratively across academic and technical teams as the organization assesses and shifts between technology platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in supporting academic platform implementations, enterprise application configuration, systems analysis, or a comparable role in higher education, healthcare, or another complex setting.

• Proficiency in application configuration, data imports, system integrations, or data mapping.

• Understanding of APIs and integration-based connectivity between enterprise or academic applications.

• Experience in supporting application implementations through requirements gathering, configuration, testing, go-live, and stabilization phases.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong skills in documentation, encompassing configuration documents, workflows, requirements, and integration specifications.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, IT teams, and vendors.

• Exceptional organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple implementation priorities.

• Preferred: experience with LMS, VLE, SIS, learner information systems, or academic program management platforms.

• Preferred: experience with integrations involving APIs, identity management, user provisioning, or automated data exchange.

• Preferred: experience in higher education, an academic medical center, medical school, or health professions education.

• Preferred: familiarity with curriculum management, learner assessment, academic scheduling, or student records workflows.

• Preferred: knowledge of accreditation and reporting requirements for undergraduate or graduate medical education programs.

• Preferred: exposure to Canvas LMS, Workday Student, or similar academic enterprise applications.

• Competitive hourly pay rate of $50.00–$64.00+ based on qualifications and contract structure.
