Able Seaman, Maritime Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.

📋 Description

• Perform navigational watch duties and deck operational tasks as assigned.

• Carry out maintenance and operational work across the vessel as part of a versatile crew.

• Assist with loading, unloading, standby, and overall vessel operations.

• Execute cleaning, preservation, and maintenance tasks for deck equipment and spaces.

• Operate onboard tools, equipment, and vessel systems safely within designated responsibilities.

• Adhere to and advocate safe work practices, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Engage in emergency response drills, safety meetings, and vessel readiness activities.

• Stay familiar with emergency procedures and your assigned Muster List responsibilities.

• Aid in fire prevention, firefighting, man overboard, and abandon ship protocols.

• Identify and report hazards, near misses, and non-conformities to vessel leadership.

• Assist in the implementation of the vessel's Business Management System (BMS) and Safety Management System (SMS).

• Ensure that both written and verbal instructions are clearly understood and executed appropriately.

• Foster effective teamwork and coordination among vessel departments.

• Support the welfare of clients and crew during vessel operations.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned to support vessel operations and mission objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) endorsed as Able Seaman, suitable for vessel requirements.

• Valid STCW endorsements relevant to vessel operations.

• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

• Current U.S. Coast Guard medical certificate.

• Experience in supporting operational vessel deck functions and seamanship activities.

• Knowledge of maritime safety protocols and emergency response standards.

• Capability to work rotational schedules in maritime settings.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
