YouTube Thumbnail Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Create compelling thumbnails for new videos, shorts, and refreshes of existing content.

• Transform video concepts into striking visuals.

• Develop multiple design concepts for each video and collaborate with the YouTube Analyst to conduct A/B tests, identifying the most effective option.

• Utilize CTR and audience insights to refine designs and consistently enhance click-through rates.

• Uphold and advance a cohesive visual identity across the channel, including typography, color schemes, layouts, and branding elements.

• Work in partnership with content creators, video editors, and team leaders to ensure thumbnails align with video hooks and messaging.

• Oversee a consistent and high-volume production workflow, meeting publishing deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

• Keep abreast of YouTube trends, competitor thumbnails, and platform best practices.

• Analyze thumbnail performance and pinpoint new opportunities for growth.

• Use data insights to make informed decisions that contribute to the channel's development.

• Design broader visual assets for the channel, including community posts, channel banners, and promotional graphics.

• Generate complementary social media and campaign graphics that extend the channel's visual identity across different platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing YouTube thumbnails, preferably at scale.

• A robust portfolio showcasing strong composition and performance-driven thumbnails.

• Extensive proficiency with design software such as Photoshop, Figma, or Illustrator.

• Keen attention to typography, color, contrast, and visual hierarchy.

• Strong skills in photo editing and compositing (including cutouts, retouching, and creating clean backgrounds).

• Flexibility across various formats and layouts, comfortable transitioning from thumbnails to banners, community posts, and promotional graphics.

• Solid grasp of the elements that drive clicks: curiosity, clarity, and emotional appeal.

• Ability to work with data and feedback, iterating designs rapidly.

• Strong attention to detail paired with a proactive approach.

• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.

• Familiarity with the tech, AI, or web development sectors is a plus.
