Substation Physical Designer 2 – Grid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with engineers and designers on the design of high and extra high voltage substations.

• Create General Arrangements, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views/Elevations, Detailed Bills of Material, Lightning Stroke Shielding Plans, Grounding Plans, Conduits, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details, Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plans, as well as Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans, and Sections.

• Analyze and integrate vendor information into design outputs.

• Perform walkdowns at client substation facilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an Associate’s Degree in Drafting, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma with 3 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

• Have at least 6 years of experience in substation physical design.

• Be proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

• Have familiarity with Bentley Substation Design.

• Demonstrate the ability to visualize components in 3D without computer assistance.

• Understand design techniques, tools, and principles related to the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

• Possess knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

• Be capable of relating various equipment to a technical design.

• Must not require U.S. work authorization sponsorship.
