Youth Advisory Committee Member

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of YAC projects, events, and initiatives (such as Youth Week) as established during Planning Days and YAC meetings.

• Deliver regular progress reports and updates to the YAC Chair or project leader.

• Act as a representative of the YAC on other Red Cross committees when appointed.

• Attend and provide assistance at Red Cross events as necessary (including AGM, World Red Cross Day, ANZAC Day, Member Forums, etc.).

• Conduct research on youth-related subjects and produce written reports for senior staff.

• Offer guidance and support to University Clubs, Clubs, and Branches as required.

• Collaborate with YACs in other States/Territories.

• Work alongside the state Board to advocate for the involvement, recognition, and support of young individuals in all pertinent Red Cross activities.

• Provide insights from a youth perspective for Red Cross programs and business functions, especially those that engage young people.

⛳️ Requirements

• Passion or experience in organizing projects and/or events.

• Highly developed communication and interpersonal capabilities, with confidence in presenting to a wide range of stakeholders.

• Skills in marketing and social media (preferred).

• Experience collaborating with community-based organizations (preferred).

• Background in working with diverse populations, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

• Comfortable working independently or as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team to distribute the workload.

• Strong organizational abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage commitments effectively.

• Awareness of and interest in the work undertaken by the Australian Red Cross.

• Deep commitment to humanitarian action and voluntary service.
