This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Review, format, and ensure the quality of Safety Basis documents, including Documented Safety Analyses, Technical Safety Requirements, Hazard Analyses, supporting calculations, Safety Evaluation Reports, and change packages.
• Confirm that documents adhere to relevant DOE orders, standards, and site-specific regulations, including DOE O 420.1 and 10 CFR 830.
• Enhance the clarity, organization, and consistency of highly technical content while preserving its technical intent.
• Implement and uphold document standards, templates, style guides, and configuration management protocols.
• Collaborate with authors, engineers, and nuclear safety analysts to address comments and elevate document quality.
• Assist in internal reviews, audits, and readiness initiatives by preparing documentation for approval and submission.
• Monitor revisions, oversee comment resolution, and maintain version control.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in English, journalism, technical communication, or a physical/social science.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Proven experience in editing technical or regulatory documentation.
• Strong understanding of grammar, technical style, and document structure.
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts in highly regulated sectors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and document control tools.
• Prior experience editing DOE Safety Basis documents is preferred.
• Familiarity with configuration management and formal document review processes is preferred.
• Active DOE clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Capability to manage multiple documents and deadlines concurrently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfort in a highly regulated, compliance-oriented environment.
• Ability to rapidly grasp complex technical subject matter.
