📋 Description

• Collaborate with the media team and fellow researchers to pitch and explore article ideas.

• Create original content tailored for a general audience.

• Revise and enhance the writings of other authors and drafts from researchers into clear and engaging articles.

• Develop first drafts based on outlines and concepts provided by the team.

• Establish and maintain editorial standards throughout the media program.

• Assist the program in publishing consistently, aiming for at least one piece each week.

• Play a significant role in shaping the editorial vision of a well-resourced and ambitious publication.

• Generate journalism on AI that aids the public in understanding artificial intelligence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as an editor at a prominent publication, such as in traditional news media.

• Exceptional writing skills demonstrated through published work aimed at a general audience.

• Proven experience in editing for a variety of writers and enhancing their work swiftly.

• Capability to simplify technical content without compromising its integrity.

• An entrepreneurial mindset as a foundational member of the team.

• Professional-level proficiency in English.

• Availability to work hours that overlap with Pacific Time for a minimum of 4 hours during the workday for remote positions.

• Previous experience covering AI, science, economics, finance, or other technical topics is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with the AI ecosystem is beneficial but not required.

• Annual salary ranging from $125,000 to $155,000 USD, with potential for higher compensation for outstanding candidates.

• Salary adjustments of up to 21% for successful candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
