Workup & Settlement Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work closely with our case management team to assist settlement-eligible clients by assessing decision points, including reviewing notes, medical records, and other relevant documentation to determine case advancement.

• Oversee client communications during the settlement offer process initiated by the case management team, ensuring effective communication and support throughout.

• Collaborate with Case Managers, legal assistants, and other team members to carry out casework efficiently and effectively.

• Act as the on-call attorney as part of the elevation rotation approximately every 1-2 weeks.

• Engage with clients, outside counsel, experts, and vendors as needed to facilitate case resolution.

• Assist in enhancing the firm’s settlement procedures to promote efficiency and consistency. Work closely with Partners and Associates on specific tasks related to assigned cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

• Three to five years of experience in a high-volume personal injury or plaintiff’s firm.

• Willingness to learn and engage in unconventional, diverse legal work that necessitates extensive interaction with clients and non-lawyer colleagues. This role is not a traditional litigation position.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Word, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Excellent time-management abilities with a demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities.

• Ability to maintain composure and show empathy when assisting clients in high-stress situations.

• Commitment to confidentiality and the exercise of discretion and sound judgment.

• Competence in multi-tasking and working either independently or collaboratively within a team.
