This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation claims for employee incidents across various companies and states.
• Manage relationships with insurance carriers, vendor partners, and other service providers related to claims.
• Assist in Loss Control and Safety Training initiatives.
• Develop, formulate, and coordinate activities related to claims to minimize workers’ compensation risks and claims.
• Serve as a liaison between the company and its customers.
• Facilitate activities related to workers’ compensation claims and devise strategies to enhance claim management procedures.
• Review and manage incident reports from employees and patients from initial report to closure.
• Assess whether claims should be submitted to insurance carriers.
• Handle payroll and claims reporting specifically for monopolistic states.
• Clarify the claims process to employees.
• Collaborate with HR, medical providers, management, and third parties to coordinate return-to-work programs.
• Direct third parties to ensure claims are resolved promptly and cost-effectively.
• Process treatment and billing for injured workers.
• Collect claims data and facilitate reviews with carriers and third parties.
• Complete annual Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reporting to relevant states.
• Manage retention and updates of workers’ compensation policies based on organizational changes.
• Maintain internal claims files and data within information systems or databases.
• Compile, review, and analyze reports to identify trends.
• Report relevant Urgent Care events and claims to insurance carriers.
• Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, third parties, outside legal counsel, and other stakeholders involved in claims.
• Support safety training and address any safety issues and concerns.
• Assist with risk projects and initiatives while promoting strategies for loss prevention.
• Preferred college degree, or over two years of experience in claims.
• At least 2 years of experience in a claims analyst, administrator, or similar role.
• Capability to lead a multi-state program involving employees located at different sites.
• Experience in customer service.
• Ability to investigate and direct the claims management process effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A history of implementing programs that positively influence claim costs is an advantage.
• Technical and professional knowledge in claims management and loss prevention.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
