This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.
• Assists in the maintenance and support of Workday HCM, focusing primarily on Payroll and Expenses.
• Collaborates with Payroll, Finance, and various stakeholders to ensure optimal system performance.
• Investigates innovative solution ideas, consistently exploring ‘what’s new’ and engaging with the Workday community for best practices to enhance the employee experience.
• Executes complex configurations to refine and optimize Workday processes, continually enhancing the end-user experience.
• Facilitates discovery, design, and customer confirmation sessions, showcasing and explaining intricate functionalities or solutions to subject matter experts.
• Regularly observes manual and automated processes to identify opportunities for streamlining, risk reduction, or gap closure.
• Collaborates with the team to enhance solutions, processes, documentation standards, and procedures.
• Guarantees the delivery of project outputs and documentation.
• Evaluates and provides recommendations to ensure processes are scalable and manageable.
• Guides clients during business process design, presenting options, risks, and downstream implications related to decisions.
• Configures the Workday system according to client business needs and Workday standards.
• Exhibits computational thinking skills.
• Identifies problem elements, analyzes patterns, removes inefficient configurations or processes, and develops algorithmic solutions that are scalable to ongoing client requirements.
• Ensures alignment and collaboration with project leadership by proactively communicating project risks and issues.
• Confirms that functional solutions are compatible with downstream data translation, assisting integrators in configuring/testing integrations between Workday and external systems.
• Maintains a strong customer focus, capable of assessing customer needs, building relationships, and managing customer expectations.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of relevant experience.
• Practical Workday experience with a strong emphasis on HCM and proven exposure to Payroll and Expenses modules.
• Approximately 5+ years of Workday experience, with the capability to contribute quickly and independently.
• Background in multiple Workday modules (beyond HCM) to facilitate cross-training and coverage within the team.
• Payroll experience is highly desirable due to a current business gap and close collaboration with the Payroll team.
• Financials exposure is a significant advantage, though not mandatory.
• Workday certifications are preferred but not essential; practical experience is prioritized, with training available for certification if desired.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively, share knowledge, and partner effectively with Centers of Excellence (COEs) and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fully remote, team-oriented environment with minimal siloed work.
